2008 Queensland Compact Governance Committee
Inaugural Independent Chair, appointed by the Minister for Community Services, with a Committee of ten high-level government and non-profit community services sector representatives. The Compact is to achieve a better quality of life and a fair community for all Queenslanders. It is implemented through an Action Plan with current projects around:

actively reducing ‘red tape’ to cut administrative duplication and compliance costs associated with quality standards
early engagement in policy and planning using the homelessness reform agenda as an example
establishing a knowledge hub, and providing access to government information systems and data to use in planning services.

Prior work role - Chief Executive Officer, Queensland Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA)

CEO, reporting to a Board of Directors, of a regulatory body for the residential services sector in Queensland involving over one third of the State’s population as renters, rental businesses and peak bodies

Development and application of a strong governance framework ensured organisational sustainability and growth

Self funded from interest on rental bonds: Operating revenue of $27.5 million, operating expenses of $17.3 million, equity of $38 million, funds under management of $360 million and staff at 133 FTEs (at 30 June 2006)

Introduced a new Act through all the policy, legislative and parliamentary processes to cover boarding houses, support accommodation and student accommodation

Stakeholder accountability recognised through Gold Medals at successive Australasian Reporting Awards for annual reports.
